DIY: Sailor’s Knot Bracelet

I absolutely love bracelets and ones that you can make (or give away as gifts) are even better.  So if you’ve got some free time, why not try your hand at the Sailor’s Knot bracelet?

Sailor's Knot Bracelets

Also known as the Turk’s Head Knot, I like the the detail of the braid and the fact that you can make it out of almost anything.  Hurray (my Eagle Scout brother will be so proud that I can tie knots.  Haha)!  With all these awesome bracelet tutorials, I feel like heavy twine is something I should be keeping in the house on a regular basis.

But anyway, all you need are:
– 3.5 yards of twine (Walmart, Home Depot, Craft Store, etc.)
– A can — something roughly the diameter of your wrist.  Don’t forget to accommodate for some wiggle room to slip the bracelet on or off.

Click on to the Etsy Blog for super detailed instructions on how to make this nifty bracelet~

Oh, and P.S.: Here’s a really pretty example of what you can do with this knot:
