Happy snacking (and I hope that everyone has an awesome Halloween)!
I have been draaaaaaaaaging lately…which is why I headed over to the Face Shop for a $10 pick-me-up! Refreshing (and cheap!) Korean skincare products always brighten my day. 🙂
- Green Tea Moisturizing Hand Gel
- Rice Water Brightening Solution (sample)
- Green Tea Toner & Lotion (sample)
- Bamboo Face Mask
- Chia Seed Serum (sample)
- White Secret Whitening Body Lotion (sample)
- Baby Face Wash Off Mask (sample)
- Herb Day 395 Cleansing Foam (sample)
- Paraffin Nutrition Nail Pack
Thank you, Face Shop ladies, for the samples! 🙂
I’m on the fence with the hand gel. I like it because it’s moisturizing yet light but it tends to leave my hands a little tacky afterwards. I picked a gel instead of a traditional cream/lotion because I’ve previously been using a really thick one that left my fingers rather greasy. Two ends of the spectrum! I should blend them together. 😛
I am a huge fan of the Face Shop’s masks. I put one on, collapse on the couch, and chill. out. I emerge from zen mode feeling very refreshed with happy skin! It also helps that these are $2 each. I haven’t tried the Bamboo one yet (I really like the lemon one) but I plan on using it with the nail pack! Ahhh 30 minutes of relaxing. I can’t wait.
I LOVED Breaking Bad. Yeah, it was a little dark but omg. So good.
I can’t really pull off the Heisenberg or the yellow-clean-suit Jesse (yeah bitch!), but if you guys are, or if you know someone who is, this DIY candy is PERFECT for you! It would be the perfect way to compliment the look, hahaha.
PS: As a disclaimer, I’m not promoting drugs! I’m just a big fan of the show. And I’m not sure if I would give this to kids either. AHH this would be so hilarious at a grown-ups-only Halloween party.
So when you give it out, remember. You’ve got to say, “SAY MY NAME.” Hahahaha.
Thanks 9gag. You guys are just too funny.
For some reason, it feels like I haven’t gotten a Birchbox in a loooooooong while. Good thing this box is on the way!
This month’s Birchbox is dedicated to…award winners, celeb favorites, up-and-comers—and all the other products we can’t stop talking about.
- Bain de Terre Macadamia Oil Nourishing Conditioner
- POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer
- Chapstick Hydration Lock
- Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Starter Kit
- Liz Earle Muslim Cloth
At first, I sighed. Cleaning products? ;_; (sad, tear-face) Aww, Birchbox. I want things like mascara and BB cream! Not a cloth to wipe down my monitor and desk. But ah ha! That Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish thing is a skincare system! ooOOooh. So how it works is that you spread some cleanser on your dry face, then wipe it all off with the warm cloth. The cloth will wipe off all of the dirt/grime while gently exfoliating your skin. Neat!
Now I’m excited. I’m also rather happy to get that deluxe size sample of conditioner. I switched to Herbal Essense’s Volumizing formula and my hair is rebelling big time. It feels so dry afterwards; I need to switch back to a good moisturizing conditioner pronto! I’m also rather fond of mac nuts. If you guys are ever in Hawaii, make sure you pick up some Mac Nut chocolates.
Did you guys get anything good this month? I just scrolled through the “free shipping” section on Birchbox.com; it looks like there are a lot of interesting products!
Making your own wedding garter TOTALLY makes sense to me–your fiance’s just going to fling it into the air at the end of the night anyway! Let’s save some hard earned moolah with Bridal Guide and design/make our own garter.
I like it! It’s cute and not too old-fashioned, like an updated modern version of a classic design.
I also like that you can get most of the items relatively easy at your local craft store:
- Stretchy, lace ribbon
- Rhinestone appliqué ($6 and up at shinetrim.com)
- Needle and thread
- Hot fix rhinestones and rhinestone setter or iron (optional)
Click through the images for complete instructions~
My only concerns are that:
- The embellishment can’t be too heavy—I think that although the lace is stretchy (and snug), the embellishment might pull it down. What do you guys think?
- I like the width of the lace in the tutorial–maybe 2 inches wide? I’ve seen 4 or 5 inches at my local Walmart….that seems WAY too wide (for my liking)
Here are some adorable embellishments that I found for under $10:
Blue Orchid Designs – $4.50
Cathie Filian – $4.90
gloryshouse – $8.99
JVGems – $6.00
gloryshouse – $7.99
