I guess I grew up eating Pineapple. Never the canned kind, always freshly cut, and sprinkled with a bit of li hing powder (like a sweet salty plum taste). My dad worked at a pineapple plantation when he was a teenager so while he feels pineapple-d out, I don’t think I’d ever get tired of this flavor!
Recently, I’ve been planting the crowns of the sweetest pineapples that I’ve been buying–it takes FOREVER (about a year and a half) to grow but it’s so easy! Just plant and water. This is my first haul and they’re tiny but extra sweet.
Zuko wasn’t that impressed (it bet he wishes I grew banana or better yet, rawhide or chicken treats).
Are you guys Amazon Prime members? I am–and they recently had…’Amazon Prime Day’ which is like…crazy Black Friday in July. I managed to score a Blendtec blender for a really good price! It’s a bit terrifying to use (at first, anyway) because it’s so powerful but so far, it’s been really fun! I can’t wait to blend nut butter, soup, HEALTHY NOT SO SWEET FRAPPUCCINOS…
Just thought I’d share this infographic I found: THREE ingredients. That’s my kind of shake! I’ve been sticking to breakfast smoothies (just fruit and some almond milk) but I’m ready to branch out into the protein powder and greens directions. If you guys have any favorite recipes that you’d like to share, I’d be really grateful! 😀
HI GUYS YOU KNOW I’M EXCITED WHEN I TYPE IN CAPS!!! Just got an email from the Zoe Report about the next Box of Style and I am really ecstatic to share.
First off: the last box was the Summer box, I think I misleadingly thought it was Fall…which was wrong, so that post is fixed.
Second: What do you guys think??? A couple of months ago, a friend tried to convince me to buy a Kickstarter for a watch like this (Arden Cho wears that brand) but I didn’t go for it. Also, this watch strongly reminds me of the Daniel Wellington brand–which another friend of mine wears. I absolutely love the style because it’s simple but with enough detail to make it charming and interesting, I think. I am head over heels excited for the rose gold (ROSE GOLD YAY!) and the interchangeable straps. I like the grey but I’m hoping to pick up a classic brown, later on. And isn’t that little brown pouch cute?
Third: RZ’s box is my absolute FAVORITE subscription box. If you guys are interested, I really recommend subscribing–I don’t think I’ve been disappointed, yet. :]
Hi guys! Japan is….humid. Kyushu dodged a Typhoon last week (Typhoon Enka) but the air is super thick and heavy, still. Last weekend, my coworker and I made a quick daytrip to Fukuoka, the largest city on the island. I woke up ridiculously early to go temple hopping (I do it in Tokyo too) and I guess I’m the only one in this city who does this because it was EMPTY! BUT the rock garden wasn’t fully open so not a total win.
This is the zen rock garden from Jotenji Temple–it’s dedicated to the monk who brought the concept of milling to Japan. The Japanese eventually learned how to make udon, soba, pastries, manju paste, etc, with his knowledge. This is my first time to a zen temple, I think, usually I find Shinto Shrines. It was really neat!
I would love to do something like this at my house–its really peaceful to me. Unfortuntely, I have a puppy dog who would love to romp all over the patterns. You know how they have those tiny desktop zen gardens? Maybe I’ll just stick with that.
Hope everyone has a great week! It’s going to be thunderstorming in my area. D: I think I am ready to go home.
What do you guys use your old Birchbox boxes for? I use mine for storing of general knickknacks, office supplies, and for gift giving. The last few BBs have been really fun patterns but this one is definitely more on the BOLD side. I love it!
And here’s what I got this month:
You know, I don’t remember what my sample pic was this month–OH WAIT it was the Stila Look At Me Liquid Lipstick. The picture is tiny but I picked the middle color–it’s a coral. The other colors weren’t really me…there was a classic red and a more pinky shade. Very pretty but I’ve really been liking the coral tones with my skintone lately.
I’m happy to get the Supergoop Serum–it smells like sunscreen but I like wearing my sunscreen in dual (sometimes triple quadruple) layers. It’s easy to build on it. Sometimes, I wear this serum, an SPF moisturizer, an SPF BB cream-ish thing, and then real sunscreen…and sometimes topping it off with an SPF powder. I’m also stoked to be getting the Macadamia Professional Mist–I LOVE their products. My favorite is the conditioning cream, second fave is a tie between the nourishing oil and the volumizing dry shampoo.
I’m a bit indifferent towards the Harvey Prince and English Laundry items, and a bit wary of the R+Co Shampoo and Conditioner. I’m afraid of very strong smelling products–especially if they’re of the ‘musky’ variety (and the theme this month is bold). I get a headache afterwards.
PS: I got my RZ Box of Style box right before I left–I’m in Japan for a worktrip again. I was hoping to post before I left but I didn’t make it in time. Stay tuned for a review on this one! :]
